My First Samples....

Today I got back the first few samples of my cards. It is nice to see something that I have designed finished with all the finishes on it. I am finding the job very interesting as you get to do the cards from start to finish. We get to put on all of the finishes as well as all of the cutters.

These cards are for Mother's Day as well as Female Everyday.

This 3 fold card had 2 finishes - silver foil and silver glitter. It also had a tip on bear which was cut from the first page.

These samples are from Easter including a money wallet. I also did several other Easter cards which were used as acetates.

Typography card..

Some of my friends recently got engaged so in my spare time I wanted to design a little card for them and to play around with typography and layout. I am now waiting for it to get printed and delivered.

Aztec pattern design

I created this pattern on Illustrator using my wacom tablet, giving it the hand drawn look

I then used a variety of colour swatches to fill in my design.

Todays tutorial - logo design

I altered the font to add more curves onto the ends of the letters, giving it a fluid feel
I then added extra text and warped the banner and writing

It was finished off by giving it a vintage texture

A little bit of sewing

Before I went travelling I started to do some needlework and this is how it has turned out. I have used the Cath Kidston 'Stitch' book and made these. The top one is going to be made into a cushion and the bottom one is a purse. Now I just need a sewing machine to put it all together.

First stop motion

Not the best photographs/lighting, but not bad for the first attempt! (some quality is also lost in uploading) I also used Final Cut Pro for the first time in order to put this together.

The most amazing 4 months...

Myself and boyfriend have wanted to go traveling for ages and decided to bite the bullet and book something. We both really wanted to see South America so decided to book an overlanding trip with Oasis. 4 months, 6 countries and 21,100 km. This is just a tiny amount of the things we saw/did. Definitely one of the best experiences of my life.
