Christmas Surface Pattern - TIgerprint comp

I have entered a current competition on Tigerprint for a christmas surface pattern. I have chosen to use red and white because they will always be on trend for this time of year. I have kept them fairly simple with repeating stripes.

Be Happy

Poster/ card design.
I wanted to do something a bit different from my usual work but still keep the fun/quirkyness of my style. I began with a phrase and then added hand-drawn lines which curved like the writing. The next step is to add colour, I chose to use just a few colours to keep it simple and limited.

Final images

These are the final layouts for the business cards and they were very happy with them. Now that they are printed they look pretty good and are now in circulation, some even went out at the MTV awards!

Its been a while..

Its has been a while since I have been creative so when a friend at work asked my to design his business cards I immediately said yes. He owns his own coffee business which is getting more and more successful. They already had their logo so it was more of a layout task and fitting everything on.

This is a shot of some of my initial ideas, the black side is the back.

Designing for a job

I am in the middle of doing some designing for a job application and one of the tasks is to do a pirate peep-hole board and this is mine so far. Still have a few more things to add like a treasure chest and parrot.

more cards..

This simple but elegant card was designed for my grandparents 60th (diamond) wedding anniversary. I followed a tutorial on how to create the diamonds and designed a simple rose flower.

This mothers day card was a bit of fun and used one of my characters from my uni work. Using InDesign i added the text so that i could create different colours, sizes and adjust the height.

Valentines Card..

This is the Valentines Card which I made for my boyfriend. I copied the design from a card I saw in Paperchase and then gave him a variety of chilli based objects!

Cheeky Chilli..

Background Pattern Swatch..

Adding the elements together..

And the final outcome. I was pleased with how it looked and the colours came out quite bright.

Postcards..

A friend and I were selling some of our crafty objects at a little craft fair and we wanted to do some cards to go with it. These are 2 of the designs which I came up with, they are a mixture of scanned in paper, Illustrator lines and the felt objects which I have made. Once printed they looked good on a shiny paper.

Mambo Designs

There is currently a competition for a Mambo artist and this is my entry...
As Mambo is a surf make I wanted to work with a beach theme and I decided on turtles. I traced the outlines of some turtles and then added patterns for the shell and the rest of its body.

Colour was added next. I decided to keep all three turtles the same kind of colours so that they weren't too jazzy.

I also added these waves as a background. I kept it various shades of blue but kept an order to them.

All of the components were added together and this is how my final design turned out..

Another Card Design...

This is another one of my designs. I decided to make a new pattern and add lots of shapes, lines and colours. There are some close up of the lines and smaller patterns within, then the final image.

I really like this finished design and i think that it would also look good as a poster or a postcard.

Card for a friend...

This is one of the designs which I did for my friend to give as a birthday card. I followed an online tutorial for the idea and adapted it. The 'Emily' was done on Illustrator and then I used Photoshop for the background and to tweak it.
