Crafting

A friend and I have started making little things which we can sell, this a little preview of the things. Once it is up and running there will be a chance to buy.

Flowers, could have a hairclip or a brooch on the back

Birdy Keyrings

Owl Keyrings

Owl Badges

Time to get festive

Its that time of year again, so have designed a few Christmas Cards. If they were printed I would want to add some flitter to give them a Christmas sparkle. The robins would have some red flitter on their tummies, likewise the reindeer would have some on his nose.

This was going to be a design for a card but I think that it looks more like wrapping paper.

Brand new CV

A few more cards

Cards for friends and family. I still like to make my cards for my friends and family and these are few of the ones I have done. Both of these designs had a bit of extra sparkle once they were printed, with glitter of the same colour added to the letters (above) and balls (below).

The Hunt for the Scroobius Pip Stickers

Once I had created my little creatures They were going to be made into stickers as a way to advertise the play to children. These are more of the images and how they looked before they were printed.

The Hunt for the Scroobius Pip

Over the Summer I did a weeks work experience at The Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough. I was working on one of there upcoming plays 'The Hunt for the Scroobious Pip', its about a monster but nobody knows what it looks like. So my task was to create some modern characters which were all sorts of shapes and sizes. This is how a few of them looked.

Its been a while...

I haven't posted anything on here for absolutely ages. So here are a few things that I have been doing ....

Gerrard Guzzlers....

The 'Gerrard Guzzlers' is the name of my Mum's Skittles team and i was volunteered to do the logo for it. They had a specific idea already so it was up to me to get it drawn up on the computer. I began by drawing 2 types of pint glasses.

I then made them look as though they were the pins and got knocked over by a skittles ball. These are the two different glasses in similar positions.

The first type of pint glass was chosen, so i developed it further to look as though the beer was spilling out of the glass, as it looks rather odd being straight.

This is the final logo design which will be sewn onto black jerseys.

A little bit of crafting..

I wanted to make something 3d and decided to make some keyrings. It would have been a lot easier if i had a sewing machine because i had to hand stitch it all. On a similar theme to my Uni work i worked with food objects and brought them to life. The first one i did was this watermelon, i didn't really have the right fabric because it started to fray. So i think something like felt would be better.

This pear was made using felt and it was a lot easier to work with. I decided to give him little legs which hang down.

a PAIR of PEARS!!

LOVE poster..

I wanted to do something different from my usual style and do something more traditional. I also wanted to design a poster for a friends birthday and after finding some inspiration i came up with this.

Alterior motive...

The other reason for designing flowers was due to it being my parents 30th wedding anniversary. As it is a pearl anniversary i chose off white/cream coloured flowers and then livened it up by introducing the hot pink colour. This was set off with the pale pink background. I also traced some text using the Wacom so that it still has a slight hand drawn quality to it.

Florals

I have never really designed flowers and i thought that it was about time i did! After getting a Wacom tablet as a graduation present from my parents i thought that this would be the best thing to start designing. I am glad to see that my Wacom skills have improved since last time and i think i now have the hang of it.

Back to the fun stuff....

Even though i have still been designing with the Axe Valley Motors stuff, i wanted to do some of my own fun stuff and get back into my cards. These were my ideas for my next range of cards..

I drew these different smiley faces and then i have put googley eyes on them. I think that they are simple yet fun.

I made these two into actual cards to see how they would look. I used Illustrator to draw the mouths and then i added some text because i felt they needed something extra. Then i stuck my googley eyes on top. I think the kissing one is my favourite.

Axe Valley Motors - A5 advert for newspaper

This is the general info of the garage and with a bit of tweaking i am going to make this into the letterhead for the company.

This is the main a5 advert which is going to be put in the newspaper.
At least more people will see some of design skills now.

Logo Design 2

This is 2 of the possible colourways so far. I still need to play around with the writing but this is something like how the final thing will look.

Logo Design

I have been asked to do a logo for a new car valeting business. The customer knew what they wanted so made it made the job fairly easy. I began by drawing a water splat in the background and added extra bubbles and splats to fill the space. The customer then wanted this fun car on the top of it.
