My first attempt at icing a giant cake..

Sams Birthday Cake

 

As we have been eating a lot of cake in the past few weeks I thought I would do something different for Sams cake. So I decided to make a Cheese Cake with a selection of differnt cheeses. It proved to be harder then I first thought. I ended up getting a box (which I filled with crackers and chutney) and with the help of cocktail sticks managed to secure the cheese to the sides.

New job....

I have just got a new job at Cupcakes by Charley, its so much fun, you are just surrounded by cake all day! So you know which ones to recommend you have to try them all first! I am even involved in the fun bit which is the icing and decorating. This is my first box of 12 for a customer.

This was my final design going under the theme of "British" (if you hadn't already guessed!) I wanted to design something which was so typically British but also a bit of fun so that I stood out from the other candidates.

Designing for a job....

I was applying for a job which designed cycle clothing, specialising in custom designed jerseys. Before interviews they set a task of designing cycle jerseys using the theme 'Olympics' or 'British'. I began my task by researching cycle jerseys and how they look. I discovered that they were all quite flat images and generally had a lot of space for sponsorship. After drawing my template of the shirts, I began designing on the theme Olympics. I wanted to use the colours and logos whist leaving some areas blank.

Lukes Birthday cakes

I love to bake and I love finding new ways to present my cakes. These were for my house mates birthday, he loves chocolate biscuits so these have mini oreo's for eyes! They tasted yummy too.

Christmas Surface Pattern - TIgerprint comp

I have entered a current competition on Tigerprint for a christmas surface pattern. I have chosen to use red and white because they will always be on trend for this time of year. I have kept them fairly simple with repeating stripes.
